Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • Summer time is high season in the Currituck area. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Currituck vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Finding the best vacation home in Corolla:

  • Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 3-Story Dog-Friendly Oceanside Home w\/Private Pool, Game Room, Hot Tub, & Grill has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
