Wood Duck Inn lets you vacation with your family and dog too! This striking home located in the gated golf course community of The Currituck Club will meet all your vacation requirements, whether you're calming in your own private hot tub, splashing around in the pool or just relaxing on the roomy pool deck. The top-level great room with the open concept makes family gatherings ideal for dining and watching movies. You also have access to the top-level sun deck and screened porch where you can savor your meals too. Take advantage of the mid-level coffee bar in the morning, brew your favorite coffee and head out to the covered deck for a fresh start of the day. Indoor entertainment can be found in the game room with a foosball and ping pong table.

Everyone can appreciate the various amenities The Currituck Club offers, enormous community pool and kiddie pool, complimentary trolley service to the beach access (in season), exercise center, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, and gorgeous paths for walking, running and bicycle riding.

Animals allowed - dogs only. No smoking/vaping. Please refer to the Rental Agreement while reviewing Rules & Policies for pool opening/closing dates.

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to pick the perfect rental home in the Currituck area:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Wood Duck Inn: Dog-friendly, Private Pool, Hot Tub has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Currituck attraction you are crazy about, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
