Vacation rental booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in Corolla. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Currituck area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. The Salty Unicorn: Oceanside, comfy 3 bedroom home only 500 feet from the beach. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your family.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
