Strategies for getting the best vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Currituck area. Book your rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Currituck area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Choose vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. SPRING SPECIAL!!!HotTub ICE MACHINE Pet Friendly 4x4 vehicles has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Currituck attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
