Booking the best Corolla vacation rental experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Currituck visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

How to pick the perfect rental in the Currituck area:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Sand and Stable - 4 Wheel Drive Only - Swan Beach has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

During your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
