Corolla rental booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local shops and restaurants.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Relaxing semi-oceanfront Corolla home with private pool & hot tub, rec room has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
