This well-maintained home is furnished for relaxation and comfort and features upgraded furnishings and linens, hot tub, and saltwater pool. Located on a peaceful cul-de-sac, this appealing oceanside getaway is steps to the path that leads directly to the beach and a close by lake that is ideal for fishing and turtle watching. Savor a cavernous living area, 2 levels of decks for shade or sunbathing, and plenty of deck furnishings for outside dining, beverages and calming by the pool. UPDATES for 2024 include new kitchen appliances and decking. Whispering Sands is now part of the Lighthouse Bagels Cottage Program. Guests staying through 9/14 receive a complimentary dozen bagels and cream cheese from Lighthouse Bagels.

This oceanside home is also close to the Currituck Lighthouse, Historic Whalehead Park, Duck Donuts, Harris Teeter, an ice cream shop, a pizza place, and more! Corolla is host to fine dining, family eateries, and a variety of fresh and funky stores!

However, due to the nature of our area, we cannot guarantee internet will always be functioning, as the Outer Banks can experience outages from time to time. We strongly advise that guests bring their own personal hotspots or other cell service devices to provide internet access, especially if the internet is needed for work or school. Tips to get the optimal Currituck rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Currituck area. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.

  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.

  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
