How to find the best Currituck vacation property experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer months are high season in Corolla. To get the largest rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Currituck restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect rental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Once Upon A Tide: Soundfront, Pool, Hot Tub has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a specific Currituck attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
