When you arrive, a wrap-around front porch with gazebo will welcome you with traditional southern appeal. Step inside and relax in the gorgeously furnished great room that features soaring, two-story ceilings, wood floors and an abundance of natural light. Strategies to get the optimal Currituck rental home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to pick the perfect rental home in Corolla:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Eyes: Private Hot Tub, Shared Pool has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Currituck destination you love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
