Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Corolla rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Currituck area. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Currituck area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect rental home in Corolla:
- First, have your family agree to trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Fun, family-friendly oceanside home in Corolla NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
