How to book the best Corolla rental home experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Currituck restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Currituck area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First and foremost, have your group select date ranges and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Don’t Worry, Beach Happy at Beacon Quarters has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Currituck beach you are crazy about, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
