Strategies for getting the perfect Corolla vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- In the Currituck area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Book your vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Planning and picking the bestrental:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Corolla Adventures Right Outside Your Door! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your agreement.

- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
