Strategies to get the best Currituck vacation rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserve your Currituck vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Waterfront house Hot Tub Boat dock 1\/4mi to ocean Pet friendly wrap@Decks has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
