How to book the best Currituck vacation property experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Summer months are high season in the Currituck area. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking your Currituck rental:

  • Select your dates and spending budget.
  • Private Pool, Hot Tub
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
