Strategies for getting the best Corolla rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Currituck attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Currituck visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and pick a perfectvacation home:

  • Choose vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. The Pine Island Lodge-- Spectacular 28 BR Oceanfront in Corolla has 28 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your group.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
