Booking the best vacation property experience:
When to visit Corolla & When to book:
- Summer time is high season in Corolla. To get the best rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your rental search:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Serenitee: Ocean & Golf Course Views, Shared Pool has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain Currituck beach you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a great stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
