Tricks and tips to get the very best Currituck rental home experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in Corolla. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by having your group commit to the best dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Full House: Dog-friendly, Close to beach in Pine Island has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your group.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's an individual Currituck attraction you are crazy about, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
