There is plenty of room for the kids to run and play when they are not splashing in the pool. All Outer Banks Blue properties provide bed linens and bath towels for a modest fee added to every reservation. We provide 1 bath towel and washcloth per advertised occupant. We provide 1 hand towel and 1 bar of soap per bathroom sink. We also provide kitchen towels. Beds are made prior to your arrival, and we provide a starter supply of toilet paper, bathroom soap, paper towels, and dishwasher detergent.

Getting the best rental value:

  • In the Currituck area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Currituck area. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
